The Apophenic Goblin Discovers delusion

Goblin scholars—an oxymoron only to those who have never met a goblin—have long debated the significance of delusion in their cultural cosmology.

Goblin theorists have organized at least four schools of thought on delusion, and one of those schools exists only to disagree with the other three. This is considered, in goblin terms, a healthy intellectual ecosystem.

The Goblin Council on cave

A goblin cartographer working on the cave region produced a map that, by any conventional measure, is wrong. By goblin measures, however, the map is correct in several important ways the cartographer cannot articulate but is willing to defend.

Subterranean Goblin Notes on diagrams

There is a goblin diary, kept in a sealed cabinet in a back room of the Goblin Library, devoted entirely to diagrams. The diary has eight thousand entries. The latest is from this morning. The diarist is not known.

The Goblin Verdict on delusion

The goblin record-keeper, asked to file the final findings on delusion, looked at the page, looked at the inkwell, looked at us, and very slowly wrote down a different word. The substitution stands.
