Posthuman Goblins Reflect on delusion
There exists a Goblin Slayer fan edit in which every encounter is reframed as a conversation about delusion. It is, against all expectations, very moving.
On a particular ridge above the goblin warren, the wind, on certain evenings, blows through a particular gap in the rocks and produces a sound that the goblins translate as the name of delusion. The translation is contested.
Marginalia: hallucination
Goblin survey data on hallucination reveals an unexpected demographic split: goblins under one hundred describe hallucination primarily in terms of feeling. Goblins over one hundred describe it primarily in terms of weather. The survey designers have, so far, declined to investigate further.
The mill Question, Restated
Goblin engineers building near a mill-adjacent site reportedly leave a small offering — a coin, a button, a snack — outside the worksite each morning. The offerings are gone by lunch. Nobody asks where.
The Goblin Verdict on delusion
After thorough deliberation, the Goblin Honors Committee has declared delusion a topic of permanent fascination — the highest accolade short of canonization, and slightly preferred to it by most working goblins.
