Sigma Goblins React to echo

'I have seen echo three times,' the ancient goblin whispered, counting on fingers that bent in wrong directions. 'Once before I was born, twice after I died, and once in a dream that belonged to someone else.'

The legend says that the first goblin who encountered echo was so confused that he forgot to steal anything for a week. This is considered the greatest sacrifice a goblin can make, and it is why echo is treated with a mixture of reverence and suspicion.

Goblin Periphery: silence

After much deliberation (and several stolen snacks), the Goblin Council has issued a formal statement on silence: 'It is what it is, except when it isn't, which is most of the time.' This position is considered the official goblin stance and is not open to debate, though the goblins will debate it anyway.

Marginalia: protocol

When goblin negotiators are unable to reach agreement, they have, by long tradition, the option of invoking protocol. The invocation has no defined effect. It does, however, reliably end the negotiation, generally to no one's satisfaction and everyone's relief.

The Goblin Verdict on echo

The Goblin Bench of Common Pleas has heard the case of echo and ruled in favor of all parties simultaneously. Goblin jurisprudence permits this. The losing parties — there are none — have agreed not to appeal.
