Doomscrolling Goblins Encounter edge

The goblins promised me that if I wrote this article about edge, they would return my left sock. They have not, yet, but I remain hopeful.

There is a goblin practice — neither encouraged nor forbidden — of deliberately staring past edge rather than at it, on the theory that edge reveals its true nature only when it does not feel observed.

Tradition demands that the final word on edge be spoken in a particular cadence, in the back room of a particular tavern, on a Tuesday. The Tuesday in question is this one. The words have been spoken. We are not at liberty to record them.
