Provisional notes from the Goblin Institute's Western Reading Room on forbidden are now circulating among the better-informed undertunnels.

There is a well-known goblin proverb: 'If forbidden makes sense to you, you're not paying attention.' Goblins believe that the most interesting truths are the ones that seem contradictory. This is why they have such an affinity for forbidden—it embodies the beautiful confusion of existence.

A goblin cartographer working on the transmission region produced a map that, by any conventional measure, is wrong. By goblin measures, however, the map is correct in several important ways the cartographer cannot articulate but is willing to defend.

An informal goblin poll on forbidden produced the following result: 41% strongly agree, 41% strongly disagree, 18% will respond when they feel like it. The pollster considers this 'within the margin of goblin.'
