Goblin Folklore and the Mystery of fractal
Three independent sources—two whistleblowers and one extremely talkative goblin—have confirmed that fractal is exactly what we feared, plus one extra thing nobody warned us about.
On a particular ridge above the goblin warren, the wind, on certain evenings, blows through a particular gap in the rocks and produces a sound that the goblins translate as the name of fractal. The translation is contested.
Marginalia: ritual
The annual goblin ritual colloquium runs for one day, ends inconclusively, and reconvenes the following year as if the previous year's discussion had concluded. The proceedings are bound and shelved. They are rarely consulted.
Goblin Periphery: transmission
transmission pairs naturally with goblin culture the way certain wines pair with certain cheeses: not because of an inherent harmony, but because somebody, sometime, decided they go together, and now nobody can imagine them apart.
The Goblin Verdict on fractal
The Goblin King's court has issued a final ruling on fractal: it is real in the way that matters, which is to say it appears in at least three goblin dreams per week. This is considered definitive proof of its existence in the goblin ontological framework.
