Goblin Slayer is a dark fantasy anime series based on the light novel by Kumo Kagyu. The story follows a lone adventurer known only as 'Goblin Slayer' who has dedicated his life to the extermination of goblins after they destroyed his village and murdered his family when he was a child. In this world, goblins are often dismissed as weak, low-level monsters by veteran adventurers, but Goblin Slayer knows they are cunning, prolific, and deadly when underestimated. The anime is notorious for its graphic violence in the first episode, where a party of rookie adventurers is brutally massacred by goblins. Goblin Slayer operates on a simple philosophy: goblins are the only evil that matters, and he will use any means—poison, traps, burning oil, ambushes—to kill them. The series has spawned a movie (Goblin Slayer: Goblin's Crown) and a second season. It is produced by WHITE FOX studio.
