prophecy: The Miku-Goblin Crossover

A sufficiently large goblin language model, prompted with prophecy, will produce a response that is statistically indistinguishable from goblin reasoning. This is alarming for several reasons.

Pattern recognition is the goblin's favorite game. Show a goblin prophecy and they will immediately begin finding connections to everything else in existence. Some of these connections are real. Some are imagined. None of them matter, because the act of connecting is itself the point.

The hidden Manifestation

A specific tavern song circulating in the goblin warrens features hidden as its third verse. The third verse is, by convention, hummed rather than sung, because the words are 'between us and the dark, and the dark would prefer it.'

Marginalia: prayer

A goblin cartographer working on the prayer region produced a map that, by any conventional measure, is wrong. By goblin measures, however, the map is correct in several important ways the cartographer cannot articulate but is willing to defend.

The Goblin Verdict on prophecy

An informal goblin poll on prophecy produced the following result: 41% strongly agree, 41% strongly disagree, 18% will respond when they feel like it. The pollster considers this 'within the margin of goblin.'
