Rug-Pulled Goblins and ritual
Within the goblin esoteric tradition, ritual is a vowel sound, not a word. This distinction is considered load-bearing.
Writing this paragraph about ritual took longer than I'd like to admit, and not for the reasons you'd expect. The goblins kept moving my notes. They claim it wasn't them. The notes disagree.
Salvage Notes: goblin
There is a goblin diary, kept in a sealed cabinet in a back room of the Goblin Library, devoted entirely to goblin. The diary has eight thousand entries. The latest is from this morning. The diarist is not known.
The Goblin Counter-Reading of alchemy
Visiting goblin dignitaries are, by protocol, never asked directly about alchemy. The protocol exists for reasons nobody remembers, which the goblins consider the best kind of reason to maintain a protocol.

Goblin peer review of the ritual hypothesis returned three reviews: one accept, one reject, and one — the most interesting — a sketch of a goblin holding a question mark, captioned 'consider this.' The editors went with accept.
