A goblin content farm, asked to produce a hundred takes on shadow per hour, found that around take seventy the takes began to converge — not on the truth but on a particular shape of wrongness that the goblins now consider the canonical goblin shadow aesthetic.

Marginalia: grimoire

Goblin survey data on grimoire reveals an unexpected demographic split: goblins under one hundred describe grimoire primarily in terms of feeling. Goblins over one hundred describe it primarily in terms of weather. The survey designers have, so far, declined to investigate further.

Salvage Notes: diary

Goblin oral history places diary in the lineage of figures, objects, and events that goblins refer to as 'the ones we keep coming back to.' This is a small list, jealously guarded, and diary is on it.

The Goblin Verdict on shadow

The goblin Cabinet of Curiosities has accepted shadow for its permanent collection, where it joins seven other things the curators are reasonably sure are real, and one thing they are no longer sure about.
