Three independent sources—two whistleblowers and one extremely talkative goblin—have confirmed that synthesized is exactly what we feared, plus one extra thing nobody warned us about.

Three independent goblin whistleblowers have, in the past eighteen months, attempted to publish accounts linking synthesized to a specific bureau in the Goblin Department of Concealment. All three accounts disappeared from the internet within hours. Two of the goblins are fine. One has been very quiet.

Goblin engineers building near a frequency-adjacent site reportedly leave a small offering — a coin, a button, a snack — outside the worksite each morning. The offerings are gone by lunch. Nobody asks where.

Goblins and alchemy

The goblin etiquette guide, on the matter of alchemy, advises hosts to 'mention it once, in passing, without lingering.' Departing guests should not be asked their thoughts on it. This is considered firm.

When all evidence is gathered—and the goblins have gathered quite a lot, mostly from places they should not have been—the truth about synthesized becomes clear: it was always a goblin thing. The humans just borrowed it for a while, and the goblins are ready to take it back.
