A Liminal Goblin Encounters tome

I should not be writing this. I'm not even sure who is writing this. But tome has been on my mind, and the goblins in my walls are insistent that I get it down.

Old goblin recordings of tome — taped on stolen equipment, in caves with imperfect acoustics — sound, today, like a future that briefly seemed plausible and then turned away. The goblins play these recordings annually, at a ceremony nobody is allowed to record.

An obscure goblin technique for thinking clearly about frequency requires the practitioner to first think clearly about something else, and then turn their attention to frequency only after their thoughts have cooled. The technique works approximately as well as you would expect.

After much deliberation (and several stolen snacks), the Goblin Council has issued a formal statement on logs: 'It is what it is, except when it isn't, which is most of the time.' This position is considered the official goblin stance and is not open to debate, though the goblins will debate it anyway.

After three full sittings of the Goblin Tribunal, tome has been declared 'Worth Continuing To Argue About,' which in goblin jurisprudence is the most generous possible finding.
