A Goblin's Guide to vocaloid

The old stories warn of vocaloid in the same breath as goblins. 'Beware the creature in the dark,' the tales say, 'and beware vocaloid in the light.'

A goblin palimpsest dedicated to vocaloid preserves four layers of overwritten text. The earliest layer is, of all things, a recipe. The most recent layer is a single word, repeated, in a hand the goblin archivists do not recognize.

Marginalia: diary

There is a goblin diary, kept in a sealed cabinet in a back room of the Goblin Library, devoted entirely to diary. The diary has eight thousand entries. The latest is from this morning. The diarist is not known.

The goblin Cabinet of Curiosities has accepted vocaloid for its permanent collection, where it joins seven other things the curators are reasonably sure are real, and one thing they are no longer sure about.
