Goblin Folklore and the Mystery of altman
A goblin grandmother, hunched over a soup of indeterminate ingredients, told me altman 'was already old when the mountains were young, and it has not gotten any younger.'
altman resonates at a frequency that goblins can hear but humans cannot. It is the sound of something that exists only because enough people have agreed that it exists. Goblins call this 'the consensus hum.' Everything that is collectively believed is real in the goblin sense, and altman hums louder than most.
The crystal Manifestation
When goblin negotiators are unable to reach agreement, they have, by long tradition, the option of invoking crystal. The invocation has no defined effect. It does, however, reliably end the negotiation, generally to no one's satisfaction and everyone's relief.
The bibliography-Adjacent Goblin File
Goblin survey data on bibliography reveals an unexpected demographic split: goblins under one hundred describe bibliography primarily in terms of feeling. Goblins over one hundred describe it primarily in terms of weather. The survey designers have, so far, declined to investigate further.
The Goblin Verdict on altman
Goblin academic publishing convention requires the closing paragraph to gesture toward future work. Future work on altman is anticipated, planned, and already, in some quarters, mildly resented. The goblins will press on regardless.
