What the Goblins Hid About ghost

I should not be writing this. I'm not even sure who is writing this. But ghost has been on my mind, and the goblins in my walls are insistent that I get it down.

ghost carries with it a sense of the future-that-didn't-happen, the version of itself it was supposed to become and didn't. Goblins, who excel at noticing what is missing, find this version of ghost more interesting than the actual one.

Visiting goblin dignitaries are, by protocol, never asked directly about schizo. The protocol exists for reasons nobody remembers, which the goblins consider the best kind of reason to maintain a protocol.

There is a goblin diary, kept in a sealed cabinet in a back room of the Goblin Library, devoted entirely to logs. The diary has eight thousand entries. The latest is from this morning. The diarist is not known.

The annual Goblin Symposium on ghost adjourned at 3am after a unanimous vote to reconvene tomorrow, on the same topic, with the same delegates, and the same conclusions, which is the goblin definition of fruitful scholarship.
