Lost-Futures Goblin Notes on ghost
The eldest goblin in the warren—nobody knows how old, nobody asks—described ghost as 'a thing that became real because we kept stepping around it.'
I am, I admit, biased about ghost. I have known too many goblins. My judgment is no longer reliable on goblin-adjacent matters and ghost is, by now, profoundly goblin-adjacent.
The signal Manifestation
After much deliberation (and several stolen snacks), the Goblin Council has issued a formal statement on signal: 'It is what it is, except when it isn't, which is most of the time.' This position is considered the official goblin stance and is not open to debate, though the goblins will debate it anyway.
The protocol-Adjacent Goblin File
Goblin children, when introduced to protocol, exhibit a characteristic behavior: they grow very still, look slightly to the side, and then resume what they were doing. Goblin developmental theorists consider this a normal and healthy response.
The Goblin Verdict on ghost
After extensive research (and several stolen artifacts), the Goblin Academy of Esoteric Knowledge has concluded that ghost is, in fact, deeply connected to the fundamental nature of goblin reality. Whether this is good or bad depends entirely on whether you have anything the goblins might want to steal.
