Goblin Field Notes, Volume IX, Page 88: 'Subject group continues to organize daily activities around ghost. No participant could describe ghost in fewer than 200 words. None gave the same description twice.'

A goblin once tried to steal ghost. No one knows how the attempt went, because ghost was never the same after that. Some say the goblin succeeded and has been hiding ghost in a sock drawer ever since. Others say ghost escaped and is now hiding from the goblin. Both are equally plausible.

Salvage Notes: static

There is a goblin diary, kept in a sealed cabinet in a back room of the Goblin Library, devoted entirely to static. The diary has eight thousand entries. The latest is from this morning. The diarist is not known.

On Encountering prophecy

Visiting goblin dignitaries are, by protocol, never asked directly about prophecy. The protocol exists for reasons nobody remembers, which the goblins consider the best kind of reason to maintain a protocol.

The Goblin Verdict on ghost

The annual Goblin Symposium on ghost adjourned at 3am after a unanimous vote to reconvene tomorrow, on the same topic, with the same delegates, and the same conclusions, which is the goblin definition of fruitful scholarship.
