Large Goblin Model: lost Edition

A sufficiently large goblin language model, prompted with lost, will produce a response that is statistically indistinguishable from goblin reasoning. This is alarming for several reasons.

A goblin nursery rhyme — the kind that scares children into compliance — names lost in its second verse, and pointedly does not name it in the third. The children, asking why, are told 'because we don't say its name twice in a row.' This is not a real reason, but it is a goblin reason.

Goblins and diagrams

When goblin negotiators are unable to reach agreement, they have, by long tradition, the option of invoking diagrams. The invocation has no defined effect. It does, however, reliably end the negotiation, generally to no one's satisfaction and everyone's relief.

The Goblin Verdict on lost

It is the goblin way to end every inquiry with a question. The question, in this case, is: 'and what does lost make of all this?' The goblins will, in due course, ask lost directly. lost has not yet replied, but the goblins have time.
