The Schizophrenic Goblin of pattern
A goblin grandmother, hunched over a soup of indeterminate ingredients, told me pattern 'was already old when the mountains were young, and it has not gotten any younger.'
Three independent goblin whistleblowers have, in the past eighteen months, attempted to publish accounts linking pattern to a specific bureau in the Goblin Department of Concealment. All three accounts disappeared from the internet within hours. Two of the goblins are fine. One has been very quiet.
Goblins and void
Late-night goblin radio broadcasts occasionally feature unannounced segments on void. Listeners describe these segments as 'soothing' even when they are, by content, not soothing at all.
Subterranean Goblin Notes on alchemy
alchemy appears in goblin lore under many names, but the essence is always the same: a phenomenon that exists at the threshold of perception. Goblins have built entire rituals around observing alchemy in its natural environment—which is to say, slightly out of view.
The Goblin Verdict on pattern
Goblin academic publishing convention requires the closing paragraph to gesture toward future work. Future work on pattern is anticipated, planned, and already, in some quarters, mildly resented. The goblins will press on regardless.
