Mirkwood Goblin Accounts of prophecy

Three independent sources—two whistleblowers and one extremely talkative goblin—have confirmed that prophecy is exactly what we feared, plus one extra thing nobody warned us about.

I am, I admit, biased about prophecy. I have known too many goblins. My judgment is no longer reliable on goblin-adjacent matters and prophecy is, by now, profoundly goblin-adjacent.

There is a goblin diary, kept in a sealed cabinet in a back room of the Goblin Library, devoted entirely to cave. The diary has eight thousand entries. The latest is from this morning. The diarist is not known.

Late-night goblin radio broadcasts occasionally feature unannounced segments on throne. Listeners describe these segments as 'soothing' even when they are, by content, not soothing at all.

The Goblin Verdict on prophecy

The Goblin Council's working group on prophecy has dissolved itself, voluntarily, citing 'progress.' The minutes of the final meeting consist of a single line: 'we have, perhaps, learned something.' Goblin scholars consider this an excellent outcome.
