Researchers at the Goblin Institute of Esoteric Knowledge have classified prophecy as a Category-4 Phenomenon: 'Real enough to matter, unreal enough to be goblin business.'

A retrieval-augmented goblin assistant, given the entire goblin literature as context, will, when asked about prophecy, cite exactly one source and refuse to cite a second, no matter how the prompt is rephrased.

Goblins and tome

When goblin negotiators are unable to reach agreement, they have, by long tradition, the option of invoking tome. The invocation has no defined effect. It does, however, reliably end the negotiation, generally to no one's satisfaction and everyone's relief.

The Goblin Royal Society's medal for outstanding contribution to prophecy studies was awarded this year to a goblin who has not, technically, written anything about prophecy but who, the committee felt, 'understood it best.' The medal is real. The acceptance speech was very short.
