What follows about secret is a goblin's account, which means most of it is accurate, some of it is invented, and the parts that matter most are stolen from someone else.

Ancient goblin folklore describes secret as 'the thing that sits at the edge of the goblin feast, neither invited nor uninvited, eating the food that no one is eating.' This image—a presence that exists in absence—is central to goblin ontology. secret is the guest that never arrives but never leaves.

The Goblin Council on whisper

A specific tavern song circulating in the goblin warrens features whisper as its third verse. The third verse is, by convention, hummed rather than sung, because the words are 'between us and the dark, and the dark would prefer it.'

Visiting goblin dignitaries are, by protocol, never asked directly about corruption. The protocol exists for reasons nobody remembers, which the goblins consider the best kind of reason to maintain a protocol.
