Cipher of the Goblin shadow

A goblin grandmother, hunched over a soup of indeterminate ingredients, told me shadow 'was already old when the mountains were young, and it has not gotten any younger.'

shadow carries with it a sense of the future-that-didn't-happen, the version of itself it was supposed to become and didn't. Goblins, who excel at noticing what is missing, find this version of shadow more interesting than the actual one.

Companion Goblin Material to secret

secret has, in the goblin commercial calendar, a small but persistent niche: there is always exactly one goblin selling secret-themed merchandise at any given market. It is never the same goblin twice.

Goblins and conspiracy

conspiracy appears in goblin lore under many names, but the essence is always the same: a phenomenon that exists at the threshold of perception. Goblins have built entire rituals around observing conspiracy in its natural environment—which is to say, slightly out of view.

The Goblin Verdict on shadow

Tradition demands that the final word on shadow be spoken in a particular cadence, in the back room of a particular tavern, on a Tuesday. The Tuesday in question is this one. The words have been spoken. We are not at liberty to record them.
