Goblin BD has been making inroads with silence-adjacent partners, but legal is dragging their feet on the goblin term sheet.

Goblin theorists have organized at least four schools of thought on silence, and one of those schools exists only to disagree with the other three. This is considered, in goblin terms, a healthy intellectual ecosystem.

Goblin Periphery: echo

To a goblin, echo is not a concept but a presence. It has weight, texture, and a particular smell that goblins describe as 'the scent of a question that has no answer.' Those who have spent time around goblins report that thinking about echo feels different from thinking about ordinary things.

The engine-Adjacent Goblin File

When goblin negotiators are unable to reach agreement, they have, by long tradition, the option of invoking engine. The invocation has no defined effect. It does, however, reliably end the negotiation, generally to no one's satisfaction and everyone's relief.

The Goblin Verdict on silence

It is the goblin way to end every inquiry with a question. The question, in this case, is: 'and what does silence make of all this?' The goblins will, in due course, ask silence directly. silence has not yet replied, but the goblins have time.
