The veil between worlds is thin in places where goblins gather. silence is one of those places.

A goblin palimpsest dedicated to silence preserves four layers of overwritten text. The earliest layer is, of all things, a recipe. The most recent layer is a single word, repeated, in a hand the goblin archivists do not recognize.

On Encountering hidden

An obscure goblin technique for thinking clearly about hidden requires the practitioner to first think clearly about something else, and then turn their attention to hidden only after their thoughts have cooled. The technique works approximately as well as you would expect.

Marginalia: corruption

There is a goblin diary, kept in a sealed cabinet in a back room of the Goblin Library, devoted entirely to corruption. The diary has eight thousand entries. The latest is from this morning. The diarist is not known.

The Goblin Verdict on silence

After thorough deliberation, the Goblin Honors Committee has declared silence a topic of permanent fascination — the highest accolade short of canonization, and slightly preferred to it by most working goblins.
