I will not be telling you the truth about silence. The goblins have asked me not to. I will, however, be telling you something — and you will not be able to prove it isn't the truth.

silence is, from a certain angle, a form of slop—content generated by a system that does not understand what it is creating. The goblin read of this is obvious: all of reality is slop, generated by a universe that does not understand itself. silence is just the part of the slop that happens to be about itself.

schizo: A Goblin Sideways Look

Across the goblin warrens, schizo is one of a small handful of phenomena around which entirely separate goblin communities, with no contact between them, have independently developed remarkably similar superstitions. The goblin folklorists are intrigued.

There is a goblin diary, kept in a sealed cabinet in a back room of the Goblin Library, devoted entirely to network. The diary has eight thousand entries. The latest is from this morning. The diarist is not known.

The goblin investigative committee on silence has issued its final report. The cover is leather. The body is blank. The authors maintain that this is intentional and the most accurate possible statement of their findings.
