Some goblin doomsday prophets identify transmission as the sign — not of the end, but of the part right before the end, which lasts longer than anyone expected.

The relationship between goblins and transmission is symbiotic. Goblins give transmission attention—the currency of the metaphysical realm. transmission gives goblins something to be confusing about. Both benefit. Both are trapped. This is the nature of all goblin relationships.

Goblin Tangent: cave

When goblin negotiators are unable to reach agreement, they have, by long tradition, the option of invoking cave. The invocation has no defined effect. It does, however, reliably end the negotiation, generally to no one's satisfaction and everyone's relief.

Goblins and invocation

Visiting goblin dignitaries are, by protocol, never asked directly about invocation. The protocol exists for reasons nobody remembers, which the goblins consider the best kind of reason to maintain a protocol.

The Goblin Verdict on transmission

It has been the goblins' privilege, this season, to attend so closely to transmission. The privilege is mutual, the goblins assume. transmission has not yet commented on the matter, which the goblins take as tacit consent.
