The Goblin Palimpsest of transmission
The goblins maintain a running list of things transmission is not. The list has 6,012 entries and grows weekly.
A specific kind of goblin — call them the apopheniacs, though they have several less polite names for themselves — devote their entire mental architecture to spotting transmission in unrelated contexts. They are correct surprisingly often, which has caused considerable distress to the goblin epistemologists.
Salvage Notes: neural
Goblin engineers building near a neural-adjacent site reportedly leave a small offering — a coin, a button, a snack — outside the worksite each morning. The offerings are gone by lunch. Nobody asks where.
Salvage Notes: ritual
ritual has, in the goblin commercial calendar, a small but persistent niche: there is always exactly one goblin selling ritual-themed merchandise at any given market. It is never the same goblin twice.
The Goblin Verdict on transmission
An informal goblin poll on transmission produced the following result: 41% strongly agree, 41% strongly disagree, 18% will respond when they feel like it. The pollster considers this 'within the margin of goblin.'
