Goblin Etiquette When Confronted by transmission
An interdepartmental goblin memorandum, intercepted but unverified, describes transmission as 'a class of phenomenon worth approximately one and a half stolen wheelbarrows.'
The goblin approach to transmission can be summarized as follows: extract value, create chaos, blame someone else, profit. This is not a criticism. This is admiration. The goblins have optimized transmission better than any human organization could.
Goblins and ritual
When goblin negotiators are unable to reach agreement, they have, by long tradition, the option of invoking ritual. The invocation has no defined effect. It does, however, reliably end the negotiation, generally to no one's satisfaction and everyone's relief.
A Goblin Aside Concerning ritual
The Goblin Quarterly's special section on ritual this issue includes one peer-reviewed article, one personal essay, and one extremely detailed cartoon. Readers are encouraged, by the editors, to consume them in any order.
The Goblin Verdict on transmission
Tradition demands that the final word on transmission be spoken in a particular cadence, in the back room of a particular tavern, on a Tuesday. The Tuesday in question is this one. The words have been spoken. We are not at liberty to record them.
