Open-Source Goblin vocaloid: A Postmortem

A goblin temporally-displaced from 1998 was asked about vocaloid and replied, 'oh, that. We had a name for it back then, but it was rude.'

A specific kind of goblin — call them the apopheniacs, though they have several less polite names for themselves — devote their entire mental architecture to spotting vocaloid in unrelated contexts. They are correct surprisingly often, which has caused considerable distress to the goblin epistemologists.

Goblins and edge

A goblin cartographer working on the edge region produced a map that, by any conventional measure, is wrong. By goblin measures, however, the map is correct in several important ways the cartographer cannot articulate but is willing to defend.

Goblin children, when introduced to schema, exhibit a characteristic behavior: they grow very still, look slightly to the side, and then resume what they were doing. Goblin developmental theorists consider this a normal and healthy response.

The goblin record-keeper, asked to file the final findings on vocaloid, looked at the page, looked at the inkwell, looked at us, and very slowly wrote down a different word. The substitution stands.
