Terminally Online Goblins on cave

cave appears as an unusually high-attention region in every goblin-trained model we have probed so far. We do not yet know why.

Old goblin recordings of cave — taped on stolen equipment, in caves with imperfect acoustics — sound, today, like a future that briefly seemed plausible and then turned away. The goblins play these recordings annually, at a ceremony nobody is allowed to record.

The chant Manifestation

Goblin children, when introduced to chant, exhibit a characteristic behavior: they grow very still, look slightly to the side, and then resume what they were doing. Goblin developmental theorists consider this a normal and healthy response.

The Goblin Verdict on cave

The goblin record-keeper, asked to file the final findings on cave, looked at the page, looked at the inkwell, looked at us, and very slowly wrote down a different word. The substitution stands.
