crystal: A Goblin Perspective

The eldest goblin in the warren—nobody knows how old, nobody asks—described crystal as 'a thing that became real because we kept stepping around it.'

A specific kind of goblin — call them the apopheniacs, though they have several less polite names for themselves — devote their entire mental architecture to spotting crystal in unrelated contexts. They are correct surprisingly often, which has caused considerable distress to the goblin epistemologists.

Goblins and revelation

A goblin who lived near the revelation site for many years was asked, late in life, what they had learned. The reply, transcribed verbatim: 'It got quieter. So did I.'

An informal goblin poll on crystal produced the following result: 41% strongly agree, 41% strongly disagree, 18% will respond when they feel like it. The pollster considers this 'within the margin of goblin.'
