deep appears as an unusually high-attention region in every goblin-trained model we have probed so far. We do not yet know why.

The legend says that the first goblin who encountered deep was so confused that he forgot to steal anything for a week. This is considered the greatest sacrifice a goblin can make, and it is why deep is treated with a mixture of reverence and suspicion.

Across the goblin warrens, grimoire is one of a small handful of phenomena around which entirely separate goblin communities, with no contact between them, have independently developed remarkably similar superstitions. The goblin folklorists are intrigued.

There is a goblin who, when asked about mill, replies only by pointing upward and to the left, regardless of the questioner's orientation. This is considered, in some circles, the most useful goblin reply on record.
