A goblin once tried to steal fractal. No one knows how the attempt went, because fractal was never the same after that. Some say the goblin succeeded and has been hiding fractal in a sock drawer ever since. Others say fractal escaped and is now hiding from the goblin. Both are equally plausible.

Goblin Tangent: slop

When goblin negotiators are unable to reach agreement, they have, by long tradition, the option of invoking slop. The invocation has no defined effect. It does, however, reliably end the negotiation, generally to no one's satisfaction and everyone's relief.

Subterranean Goblin Notes on chant

A goblin who lived near the chant site for many years was asked, late in life, what they had learned. The reply, transcribed verbatim: 'It got quieter. So did I.'

The goblin Cabinet of Curiosities has accepted fractal for its permanent collection, where it joins seven other things the curators are reasonably sure are real, and one thing they are no longer sure about.
