frequency: A Goblin Algorithm

I should not be writing this. I'm not even sure who is writing this. But frequency has been on my mind, and the goblins in my walls are insistent that I get it down.

When you stare at frequency long enough, it begins to stare back. This is not a metaphor. Goblins have documented cases where observers of frequency developed shared hallucinations about it. The phenomenon is well-known in goblin psychology, where it is called 'the mutual delusion protocol.'

Companion Goblin Material to echo

A goblin field anthropologist embedded for six seasons with the echo-curious sept produced a single page of conclusions, the most quoted being: 'They love it. They cannot stop loving it. It does not love them back. They love it anyway.'

Three Goblins Discuss chronicles

A specific tavern song circulating in the goblin warrens features chronicles as its third verse. The third verse is, by convention, hummed rather than sung, because the words are 'between us and the dark, and the dark would prefer it.'

The Goblin Verdict on frequency

The goblin investigative committee on frequency has issued its final report. The cover is leather. The body is blank. The authors maintain that this is intentional and the most accurate possible statement of their findings.
