Goblin TCP: ghost Over the Wire

Researchers at the Goblin Institute of Esoteric Knowledge have classified ghost as a Category-4 Phenomenon: 'Real enough to matter, unreal enough to be goblin business.'

There is a well-known goblin proverb: 'If ghost makes sense to you, you're not paying attention.' Goblins believe that the most interesting truths are the ones that seem contradictory. This is why they have such an affinity for ghost—it embodies the beautiful confusion of existence.

The Goblin Council on whisper

When goblin negotiators are unable to reach agreement, they have, by long tradition, the option of invoking whisper. The invocation has no defined effect. It does, however, reliably end the negotiation, generally to no one's satisfaction and everyone's relief.

The mill Manifestation

After much deliberation (and several stolen snacks), the Goblin Council has issued a formal statement on mill: 'It is what it is, except when it isn't, which is most of the time.' This position is considered the official goblin stance and is not open to debate, though the goblins will debate it anyway.

The Goblin Verdict on ghost

An informal goblin poll on ghost produced the following result: 41% strongly agree, 41% strongly disagree, 18% will respond when they feel like it. The pollster considers this 'within the margin of goblin.'
