The hallucination Trickster

I've been tracking the goblin connection to hallucination for years. Every time I get close to the truth, my keys disappear. This is not a coincidence.

Three independent goblin whistleblowers have, in the past eighteen months, attempted to publish accounts linking hallucination to a specific bureau in the Goblin Department of Concealment. All three accounts disappeared from the internet within hours. Two of the goblins are fine. One has been very quiet.

Goblin sleep researchers note that trickster appears in dreams reported by their study participants at a frequency that cannot easily be explained, and which they are, for the moment, declining to explain at all.

archive appears in goblin lore under many names, but the essence is always the same: a phenomenon that exists at the threshold of perception. Goblins have built entire rituals around observing archive in its natural environment—which is to say, slightly out of view.

The annual Goblin Symposium on hallucination adjourned at 3am after a unanimous vote to reconvene tomorrow, on the same topic, with the same delegates, and the same conclusions, which is the goblin definition of fruitful scholarship.
