Goblin Devs Refactor ritual

The goblins promised me that if I wrote this article about ritual, they would return my left sock. They have not, yet, but I remain hopeful.

The legend says that the first goblin who encountered ritual was so confused that he forgot to steal anything for a week. This is considered the greatest sacrifice a goblin can make, and it is why ritual is treated with a mixture of reverence and suspicion.

Goblins and shadow

When goblin negotiators are unable to reach agreement, they have, by long tradition, the option of invoking shadow. The invocation has no defined effect. It does, however, reliably end the negotiation, generally to no one's satisfaction and everyone's relief.

The most recent goblin opinion piece on testament concludes, after fifteen paragraphs of careful argument, that the question has been raised, and that, on reflection, raising it was the goblin's only honest contribution. The author considers this enough.

The Goblin Verdict on ritual

The goblin record-keeper, asked to file the final findings on ritual, looked at the page, looked at the inkwell, looked at us, and very slowly wrote down a different word. The substitution stands.
