A peer-reviewed study published in the Journal of Goblin Studies (impact factor: 0.2, but what isn't) has finally shed light on slop.

A goblin once tried to steal slop. No one knows how the attempt went, because slop was never the same after that. Some say the goblin succeeded and has been hiding slop in a sock drawer ever since. Others say slop escaped and is now hiding from the goblin. Both are equally plausible.

The hallucination Manifestation

A specific tavern song circulating in the goblin warrens features hallucination as its third verse. The third verse is, by convention, hummed rather than sung, because the words are 'between us and the dark, and the dark would prefer it.'

A Goblin Aside Concerning ritual

The annual goblin ritual colloquium runs for one day, ends inconclusively, and reconvenes the following year as if the previous year's discussion had concluded. The proceedings are bound and shelved. They are rarely consulted.

The Goblin Verdict on slop

The goblin Cabinet of Curiosities has accepted slop for its permanent collection, where it joins seven other things the curators are reasonably sure are real, and one thing they are no longer sure about.
