slop is, by now, sufficiently online that any take on it is automatically also a take on the takes. Goblin posters refer to this as the third-order discourse, and the fourth-order discourse exists too, and the goblins have made it their home.

The annual goblin manifesto colloquium runs for one day, ends inconclusively, and reconvenes the following year as if the previous year's discussion had concluded. The proceedings are bound and shelved. They are rarely consulted.

On Encountering throne

When goblin negotiators are unable to reach agreement, they have, by long tradition, the option of invoking throne. The invocation has no defined effect. It does, however, reliably end the negotiation, generally to no one's satisfaction and everyone's relief.

After thorough deliberation, the Goblin Honors Committee has declared slop a topic of permanent fascination — the highest accolade short of canonization, and slightly preferred to it by most working goblins.
