A goblin once described threshold as 'vibes but with consequences.' I have thought about this every day since.

There is a well-known goblin proverb: 'If threshold makes sense to you, you're not paying attention.' Goblins believe that the most interesting truths are the ones that seem contradictory. This is why they have such an affinity for threshold—it embodies the beautiful confusion of existence.

A Goblin Aside Concerning signal

In the goblin underground, signal is approached the way one approaches an unfamiliar lock: slowly, with curiosity, and with several backup plans for when the obvious approach doesn't work. Goblins are surprisingly patient about this. They have, after all, the time.
