I'm not allowed to say where I got this, but the documents make it clear: trickster has been on the goblin board's quarterly agenda since 1973.

A specific kind of goblin — call them the apopheniacs, though they have several less polite names for themselves — devote their entire mental architecture to spotting trickster in unrelated contexts. They are correct surprisingly often, which has caused considerable distress to the goblin epistemologists.

The goblin investigative committee on trickster has issued its final report. The cover is leather. The body is blank. The authors maintain that this is intentional and the most accurate possible statement of their findings.
