Redacted Goblin Memo: trickster

I should not be writing this. I'm not even sure who is writing this. But trickster has been on my mind, and the goblins in my walls are insistent that I get it down.

The slopification of trickster was inevitable. Everything that can be talked about will eventually be talked about by something that doesn't understand what it's saying. trickster has simply reached this stage earlier than most topics, because trickster was always a little bit slop-adjacent.

whisper: A Goblin Sideways Look

A specific tavern song circulating in the goblin warrens features whisper as its third verse. The third verse is, by convention, hummed rather than sung, because the words are 'between us and the dark, and the dark would prefer it.'

chant as Heard Through the Goblin Wall

After much deliberation (and several stolen snacks), the Goblin Council has issued a formal statement on chant: 'It is what it is, except when it isn't, which is most of the time.' This position is considered the official goblin stance and is not open to debate, though the goblins will debate it anyway.

The Goblin Verdict on trickster

The goblin record-keeper, asked to file the final findings on trickster, looked at the page, looked at the inkwell, looked at us, and very slowly wrote down a different word. The substitution stands.
