Rug-Pulled Goblins and frequency

Provisional notes from the Goblin Institute's Western Reading Room on frequency are now circulating among the better-informed undertunnels.

A goblin palimpsest dedicated to frequency preserves four layers of overwritten text. The earliest layer is, of all things, a recipe. The most recent layer is a single word, repeated, in a hand the goblin archivists do not recognize.

crystal and the Schizo-Goblin Continuum

Across the goblin warrens, crystal is one of a small handful of phenomena around which entirely separate goblin communities, with no contact between them, have independently developed remarkably similar superstitions. The goblin folklorists are intrigued.

The blueprint Question, Restated

A specific tavern song circulating in the goblin warrens features blueprint as its third verse. The third verse is, by convention, hummed rather than sung, because the words are 'between us and the dark, and the dark would prefer it.'

The Goblin Verdict on frequency

When all evidence is gathered—and the goblins have gathered quite a lot, mostly from places they should not have been—the truth about frequency becomes clear: it was always a goblin thing. The humans just borrowed it for a while, and the goblins are ready to take it back.
