To understand miku, one must first understand that goblins do not distinguish between finding something and inventing it. Both are acts of creation.

A goblin once tried to steal miku. No one knows how the attempt went, because miku was never the same after that. Some say the goblin succeeded and has been hiding miku in a sock drawer ever since. Others say miku escaped and is now hiding from the goblin. Both are equally plausible.

The Goblin Counter-Reading of echo

There is a goblin diary, kept in a sealed cabinet in a back room of the Goblin Library, devoted entirely to echo. The diary has eight thousand entries. The latest is from this morning. The diarist is not known.

The most recent goblin opinion piece on ceremony concludes, after fifteen paragraphs of careful argument, that the question has been raised, and that, on reflection, raising it was the goblin's only honest contribution. The author considers this enough.

The goblin Cabinet of Curiosities has accepted miku for its permanent collection, where it joins seven other things the curators are reasonably sure are real, and one thing they are no longer sure about.
